(Yazıda geçen Gavs hazretleri, şu an Adıyaman Kahta Menzil köyünde ikamet buyuran Gavsı Sani Seyyid Abdulbaki hazretlerinin mübarek babalarıdır.)
Hacı İdris aslen Siirt’li olup, Gavs Seyyid Abdulhakim El Hüseyni hazretlerinin yakınında hizmetinde bulunmuş güzel bir sofiydi.
Bir miktar yol almıştık ki o civardaki köylerden birinin muhtarı olan bir kişiyi yolun alt tarafındaki tarladan bize doğru gelirken gördük. Bizi adap üzeri yürürken gören adam başladı ileri geri konuşmaya. Sözleri hakarete kadar varıyordu.
Gavs k.s. sakın cevap vermeyin diye emretti. Adam yanımıza kadar gelince , Gavs Hz. katırının yularını tutan sofi Haydar’ın yanında yürümeye başladı. Ama susmuyor, gene aynı sözleri tekrarlıyordu. Sofi haydar dayanamadı. Gavs’ ın görmediği bir anda, adama bir dirsek vurdu. Bir feryat koptu.
Adam; birazda abartarak kendisini yere attı. Gavs k.s. sofi Haydar’a çok sert baktı ve “Size dokunmayın demedim mi ?” diye de çıkıştı. Adamı teskin edip üstünü temizledikten sonra tekrar yola koyulduk.
Gavs k.s. hazretleri bir müddet sonra cebinden çıkardığı tabakasından bir sigara sardı ve adama uzattı. Adam “ben sigara içmiyorum” dedi. (Gavsımız sigara sarıp ikram ederdi tiryaki değildi) Gavs Hz. k.s “benim için bir tane iç” dedi.
Muhtar sigaradan bir nefes çekti. Durdu… Birden yüksek sesle “vallahi sen Gavs’ sın, billahi sen Gavs’ sın, sen evliyasın” diye bağırıp feryat etmeye başladı. Bu seferde bu şekilde feryat figan bağırıyordu adamı yine susturamıyorduk.
O ahval üzere dereye kenarına kadar geldik. Gavs k.s. katırdan indi. Biz sırtımız da kendisini suyun karşısına geçirecektik. Muhtar; “ver şeyhinin hatırına seni ben geçireyim” dedi. Gavs’a çok ısrar edip şeyhinin hatırını öne koyunca Gavs dayanamadı ve bizimde muhalefetimize rağmen muhtarın isteğini kabul etti. Muhtar Gavs’ı sırtına aldı, derenin içinde yürümeye başladı. Gittikçe derine doğru kayıyordu. Tam ortaya gelince durdu. “Ben yoruldum” dedi. Biz kızgınlıktan kendi kendimizi yiyorduk. Muhtar,
“Ya hakkımı verirsin yada seni bu suya bırakacağım” dedi.
Hem Gavs’ın tepkisinden çekindiğimiz, hem de Gavsımızın suya düşmesinden korktuğumuz için çaresiz donduk kaldık. Gavs k.s “ne istiyorsun?” Diye sordu.
Muhtarda “mahşerde beni yalnız bırakmayacağına söz ver” dedi. Gavs k.s. “seni Şah’ı hazneye havale ettim.” Dedi. (Şah’ı hazne… Gavs’ın mürşidi idi )
Muhtar “vallahi ben onu tanımıyorum, seni tanıyorum ve senden istiyorum.” Dedi. Gavs k.s. bir müddet alnını tutup durdu. Sonra başını kaldırıp tamam “inşallah bize izin verilirse bizde sizi unutmayız” buyurdu. Şükür karşıya geçtiler de bizde rahatladık. Taruni ye varınca o adam (muhtar) tövbe aldı. Adapları yaptı. Elhamdülillah
Gavs hazretleri k.s. O seferde 40 gün köyleri dolaştı. O muhtar kırk gün onu yalnız bırakmadı. Oysa biz beş on gün ancak kalabilmiştik. O muhtar sadık bir sofi olarak yaşadı ve bu kapının mensubu olarak öldü.
