20-) GRAPES ON THE SHELF

(The Gavs hazrat mentioned in the story is the blessed fathers of gavsı sani seyyid Abdulbaki who now reside in the village of Kahta in Adıyaman city)

Hajjı idris was  originally from ( Siirt city ) and he was disciple – mürid –  of Gavs Seyyid  (Abdulhakim  El hüseyni) – May Allah sanctify his secrets -,hajji idris  , which served near of his Sheikh , was good sufi.

Hazrat k.s (Muhammad Diyauddin Hz.) lost his right arm in the Russian war he participated with his followers. One of his faithful followers, Molla Ibrahim, was wounded in the right leg by a piece of shrapnel in the same war. Both were in the same hospital and in the same ward. Molla İbrahim told us about an incident they experienced in the same room as follows: In the war with the Russians, I was fighting with Hazrat K.s under his command. A piece of shrapnel injured Hazrat’s right arm. My right leg was also broken in several places by a similar piece of shrapnel. We were sleeping in the same room. At one point Hazrat passed out. This happened frequently. Because his wound was severe and he had high temperature. He called me from where he was sleeping. “Mullah İbrahim, get up, there were two bunches of grapes on the shelf. Bring them and let’s eat. I didn’t respond because he must have dived in again and was dreaming. Because the  season was winter. It was not possible to have fresh grapes in this season. Besides, it was not possible for me to get up from my place. My leg was broken. After a while, he called me again: “ibrahim, there are two bunches of grapes on the shelf. Bring them.” I was very upset when I heard this for the second time. I was saying to myself, “Oh my god, he’s dying, he was got worse and he probably started to lose consciousness,” while I was crying as if I was passing out. Hazrat called out again, “ibrahim get up and bring the grapes from that shelf and let’s eat.” I jumped out immediately. When I got to the shelf, I suddenly came to my senses. Yes, I was walking. My amazement and amazement increased when I saw two bunches of grapes there. I immediately took the grapes with the plate. I went to Hazrat. He took a bunch for himself, and said “you eat one too” Then he said: “A little while ago, all the saadats were here. They asked the Prophet (s.a.v) for us to extend our lives for a while. He (s.a.v) prayed to Allah. Allah (swt) gave us a life span of twenty-odd years, so many months and so many days.” After saying. He continued as follows: “Mullah Ibrahim, but do not be sad, Allah (c.c) would give us the reward of martyrdom again. Because neither this leg of yours, nor this arm of mine would ever fully heal. In the end, we would die because of these wounds so that our Lord will give us martyrdom on this occasion.” I immediately wrote down what the Hazrat said and kept it (with the date and day). Years had passed, I  never forgotten that date. When the days I wrote approached, Hazrat became very ill. He said words to comfort me when he saw me sad, He told me not to be afraid of death. And when that day and date came, he died from the that wound just at the time he said it. Hazrat said that the wound on his leg was getting worse every year and he had it treated and then healed. Sometimes he would even jokingly say, “ı wish ı had eaten some more of those grapes. he said that Maybe we would live as long as the number of grapes,” who knows… and then we laughed together. But the year he died, that wound became serious, the treatment did not help and he “died of gangrene”.May Allah have mercy on both of them. Amine.

NOTE : HACI İDRİS told us this story by declaring that he had heard this story from Molla İbrahim in his old age.
